In April we held our Annual Conference at McLaren Vale Function Centre. The weekend was spent getting to know each other more, learning and improving our Property Management skills and building relationships. It’s a time for motivating each other, recognising our achievements, sharing experiences and having fun.
On Friday we were excited to have Fabian from Multi Array join us and chat at length about the improvements his company is making to the system we use. This session was followed with Paul Edwards the Legislation, Risk and Compliance Adviser from REISA who featured in one of our most informative sessions of the weekend. Their was lively discussion around some topics and it was wonderful to watch Paul facilitate this session with so much engagement from the team.
Saturday was a massive day beginning with a session on communication and team building, and finishing with our Annual Awards Presentation. A huge thank you to Dave Stockbridge for sponsoring two of our guest speakers, Stephen Yarwood and David Gould, who were both thoroughly enjoyed by the group. Earlier in the day we also listened to Daniel Menzel chat about his football career and overcoming a string of injuries. I admit my favourite session was in the middle of the day, “Getting to know each other with a glass of bubbly,” and yes there were quite a few bottles of Moet consumed during that hour! Taryk facilitated a couple of fun Team Building Sessions including a fabulous session on Power Posing. Each team member was able to select an affirmation to quote during the power posing session and on Sunday morning they were greeted with an engraved crystal desk plaque of their particular quote.
A huge congratulations to all our Award winners, and to the recipients of the 5 Years of Service Recognition. I will post separately to announce all the winners.
Sunday morning was filled with discussions on the business model and planning for 2022/23. Of course there were the normal arrival gifts which this year included a branded horse toy, an insulated coffee mug to match last years thermos, and our favourite cookies and cupcakes from Lee’s cakes.
Overall the weekend was a huge success, and we hope everyone enjoyed some time away with family and that our business relationships were strengthened. Our TEAM is the greatest asset this business can ever have, so we believe investing in the TEAM is one of the most important financial decisions the business can ever make.
